European esports organisation OG has named Asian betting operator FUN88 as its official global betting partner following a multi-year agreement between the two entities.
The partnership will be focused around OG’s Dota 2 roster, with the aim to create additional value that will contribute to the esports’ sustainability.
FUN88 will aim to optimise community interactions and continue to grow the sport with pre-play, real-time, and post-match insights.
Founded in 2009, the betting operator has become one of the leading brands in online gaming, offering markets across a variety of games and leagues.
A spokesperson from FUN88 commented: “FUN88 is delighted to team up with OG’s elite Dota 2 roster, which embraces the same core values and commitment to excellence as Fun88.
“We believe in partnerships that can boost and leverage esports’ growing appeal across emerging markets – and this partnership will deliver that message across the world.”
As the organisation continues to “cement their legacy”, this collaboration aims to strengthen their leading position in the Dota 2 scene. The deal sees the esports organisation join forces in a strategic partnership that promises to bring fans closer to the action than ever before.
Juan M. R. Luna, CEO at OG, added: “The OG Esports Dota 2 legacy is built on the values of friendship, trust and competitive excellence. We are thrilled to welcome FUN88 to both esports and the OG Family.
“As our team-belief of ‘Dream OG’ aligns perfectly with FUN88’s own brand slogan ‘Live Your Dream’, we are committed to partner together to ignite worldwide Dota 2 players, firing fans’ passion and excitement to pursue their dreams.”
Esports Insider Says: One of the most popular Dota organisations in OG will be happy to partner with a global betting operator such as FUN88. The operator already has a variety of mainstream partners, such as Premier League team Newcastle United, with OG’s name now sitting alongside these entities. This deal really encapsulates the potential capability of the esports market to other investors.
