Australian esports platform Mogul has partnered with esports media cmpany SG Esports to launch League of Legends competitions in Australia and New Zealand.
Members of SG Esports’ Summoners Society will be able to compete in events on Mogul’s platform in the coming weeks.
Mark Warburton, CMO of Mogul commented on the partnership in a release: “The Summoners’ Society and SG Esports partnership will allow Mogul to continue to build a deep connection with both teams and community groups within Australia and worldwide to support grassroots and amateur tournaments.”
The competition will heavily incorporate SG Esports’ regional organisation Summoners’ Society, labelled “Australia’s oldest and biggest League of Legends gamer community” which boasts roughly 11,000 members. Running entirely on a Summoners’ Society branded hub on Mogul’s platform, members and fans of the community will play competitive League of Legends tournaments for cash and other prizes.
Sean Callanan, Chief Executive Officer of SG Esports added: “we have been looking for a way to add value to the esports community groups and teams we manage for some time, and now with Mogul, we’re able to set up tournaments for grassroots players and communities with ease. Summoners’ Society will now be able to better engage with existing members and grow its member base of passionate League of Legends players via regular fun competitive tournaments and events.”
This new deal comes after a series of partnerships for Mogul across multiple games and regions over the last three months. This includes North American Dota 2 with Team Secret as well as Europe and Southeast Asia with Alliance, Magic: The Gathering in Australia and New Zealand, and FIFA in the Middle East.
