100 Thieves’ Cash App Compound, its sponsored Los Angeles headquarters that opened in January, will be used as an official voting centre in the United States presidential election.
The Culver City-based facility in Los Angeles County will open for early voting from October 30th to November 2nd, as well as Election Day voting on November 3rd.
Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, founder and CEO of 100 Thieves, commented in a release: “Ever since we put down roots in this pocket of Los Angeles with the opening of the 100 Thieves Cash App Compound at the beginning of the year, we’ve been looking for ways to give back to the community. We’re thankful to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk for the work they are doing this election season, and we’re excited to partner with them to offer up our space.”
100 Thieves enlisted graffiti artist Slick to paint a “VOTE” mural on the side of the building, which will be updated to read “WE VOTED” on November 2nd. The mural will remain in place until November 13th.
Various safety protocols will be utilised at the facility during voting, including requiring the use of masks and gloves, social distancing, and sanitising all surfaces and ballot marking devices after each vote is cast. 100 Thieves will also give all of its employees Election Day off as a paid holiday.
Earlier this week, the organisation announced that it has signed with entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for representation.
Esports Insider says: Esports facilities haven’t been put to as much use this year due to the pandemic, however, this is an excellent way to utilise the space as it gives local voters another option for casting their ballots.
